Caithness Thurso & North Coast

As the northernmost town on mainland Scotland, Thurso is the heart of the north coast. Situated where the River Thurso meets the Pentland Firth, the town enjoys stunning coastal vistas, from sandy beaches to rugged cliffs.

Caithness Wick & East Coast

Caithness is the home of big skies and dramatic seascapes, and the east of the county offers some of the best. The principal town of Wick takes its name from the Old Norse vik – meaning bay – and has a rich maritime tradition.

Sutherland East Coast

The county of Sutherland is one of the most spectacular landscapes in Scotland, offering an unrivalled quality of life to the people lucky enough to call it home. The east coast hosts a number of atmospheric towns and a scattering of small fishing communities each with their own distinct character.

Sutherland North Coast

North Sutherland is a unique landscape where the Highlands’ turbulent past meets a hopeful future. The evidence of the Highland Clearances can be seen throughout the far north villages of Bettyhill, Strathy and Tongue, offering up reminders of displaced communities and the hardship of daily life.

Sutherland Central

Central Sutherland has a wild, untamed beauty, its landscape punctuated by rivers, waterfalls and cairns. Its crystal clear waters are teeming with wildlife, including trout, seals and otters, and visitors travel for miles to witness the fantastic leaping salmon at the Falls of Shin and Cassley Falls.

Sutherland Assynt & West Coast

North West Sutherland is a thriving coastal community boasting some of the most spectacular scenery in Scotland. The area is a natural playground of pristine beaches with turquoise waters, sandy caves, rugged coastlines and sea stacks, set against rolling green hills and expansive moorland.
