Mackay & Co is a leading independent firm of Chartered Accountants, with five locations – Golspie, Dingwall, Ullapool, Oban, and Inverurie. The firm is rapidly growing, and is seeking to recruit another qualified accountant to work in our Golspie office.

Mackay & Co serve clients across Scotland, the UK, and further afield, in a wide variety of industry sectors.

The position is permanent and full time, and the suitable applicant must have proven experience working in general practice, engaging with clients and developing sound trusted relationships. Salary is dependent on the level of experience, and is highly competitive.

The job will primarily involve maintaining a portfolio of clients by the provision of general accounting and taxation advice and support, using the resources of the firm to ensure the best service for clients, and with the opportunity to move into more specialised areas dependent upon interest or experience.

The successful applicant will be used to significant autonomy dealing with their own portfolio of clients, responsible for their affairs, and for building good client-firm relationships. They need to be happy working as part of a team, and utilising resource from across the firm as appropriate to get the job done.

This position is based in the Golspie office, but may entail travel to our other offices (Dingwall, Oban, Ullapool, Inverurie) and therefore a driving licence is highly desirable.

Golspie is a thriving seaside town, with excellent transport links, providing a perfect lifestyle for the successful applicant.

To apply, please send a CV and covering letter in strict confidence to us.

Requirements

We are ideally looking for a qualified (ICAS or ICAEW or ACCA) chartered accountant, but would consider someone qualified by experience with a proven track record working in general practice, who is willing to join an expanding firm – with potential for career advancement as the firm grows, if they are able to rise to the challenge.
