Your main responsibilities will include
- Assist senior engineer to prepare design drawings and come up with technical solutions for project.
- Work alongside our engineering team assisting on a variety of works to make sure everything runs smoothly and on time.
- Carry out site surveying and setting out works.
- Assist in creating key documents including drawings and important health and safety
- (CDM) paperwork.
- Undertake quality control checks to ensure work meets our high standards.
- Track any changes on documents or that are encountered on the field and report to project manager on any issues that may affect project timings or cost.
- Material take offs to assist project manager when ordering materials, and material logging on stie to ensure correct quantity of material has been delivered and is compliant.
- Liaise with client and stakeholders to obtain necessary approvals required to ensure works can proceed and there are minimal delays.
- Liaise with community and education establishments to help with future recruitment and establish good community working relationships.
Requirements
- A qualification (HNC, HND or degree) in civil engineering.
- Previous Engineering experience.
- A full UK Driving license.
- A working knowledge of Microsoft software such as word, excel etc.
- Someone who can work as part of a team and as an individual.
- Good communications skills and able to build working relationships.
- A general understanding of industry standards and best practices.
Desirable (but not essential)
- CSCS Card.
- A working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- ITB – Site supervisors training (for holiday cover)
- Temporary works supervisor or co-ordinator training.
