North Highland Chamber of Commerce is looking for a Senior Administrator to support our members and help manage business and community benefit funds. You’ll be a trusted first point of contact, keep applications and meetings running smoothly, and help us deliver work that makes a difference across the region. Based in Thurso with 50% remote working, this is a varied role for someone who enjoys working with people, getting the details right and improving how things are done.
What you will do
You will be responsible for professionally and efficiently managing the Chamber’s membership services and the business and community benefit fund portfolio. This includes:
- Being first point of contact for enquiries
- Processing applications
- Managing applicant accounts
- Facilitating and minuting meetings
- Preparing financial records and reports
- General office support
- Records maintenance
- Assisting in the development of effective procedures and systems
- Other duties as needed by the Chamber
What you will bring
Extensive experience in a similar role is essential, alongside excellent IT skills (specifically Microsoft 365) and very strong written, verbal and numeracy skills. Education to HNC level in Business Administration or Management is desirable but not essential.
We are looking for a colleague who is enthusiastic, highly motivated, flexible and efficient. You should have excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy. Other key professional skills include:
- Good knowledge of accounting procedures e.g. bookkeeping and finance
- Exceptional communication and customer service skills
- Ability to manage multiple demands and prioritise key tasks
- Ability to handle confidential information and maintain strong records
The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a team environment as well as acting on their own initiative, with strong timekeeping and interpersonal skills.
