Key Responsibilities as a Tearoom Assistant include:
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional service to all visitors and staff.
- Preparation: Ensure the tearoom is fully prepared before opening.
- Drink Preparation: Prepare and serve barista-style and other drinks.
- Taking Payment: Handle transactions, operate the till, and manage contactless payments.
- Food Safety: Maintain high standards of food safety when serving food.
- Cleanliness: Keep both front and back of house areas clean and tidy.
- Stock Management: Replenish stock promptly and report shortages.
- General Cleaning: Carry out cleaning tasks as directed.
- Maintenance Reporting: Report maintenance issues, hazards, or staffing concerns to the manager.
Skills and Experience:
- Front of House Experience: Desirable but not essential.
- Customer Service Experience: Desirable but not essential.
- Barista Training: Advantageous but not required—training provided.
- Personal Attributes: Confident, friendly, self motivated, able to work under pressure, multitask, and prioritise.
- Food Safety: Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene Certificate required (training provided).
- Communication: Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attitude: Customer focused with a positive attitude.
- Teamwork: Team player who can also work independently.
- Enthusiasm: Willingness to learn and enthusiasm for the role.
Extra Information
Working hours typically from 10:30am to 4pm. Seasonal position, working from 1st May to 30th September with flexible full-time or part-time options available. Due to location transport is essential. Uniform and training will be provided.
