Owners Fiona and Richard Trevor took over this small coastal hotel in 2016.  The hotel is named after the Far North parish of Eddrachilles and was originally built as the Church of Scotland parish manse. Today the building is set in three acres of private grounds leading to the shore and overlooks the spectacular island-studded Badcall Bay across to the mountains of Assynt.

Eddrachilles Hotel is is located near the mid-point of the NC500, 2.5 miles south of Scourie and is an ideal place for exploring the wild and wonderful landscapes of North-West Sutherland. Nearby Handa Island, a Scottish Wildlife Trust reserve, offers excellent seabird watching and various boat trips are available along the coast. Guests may choose to explore gentle walks, climb the iconic mountains of Assynt and the Far North, try fly fishing with an expert local coach, or simply take a relaxing day on fabulous nearby Sandwood Bay.

Eddrachilles offers a “taste of the North”, with a delicious combination of fresh Scottish ingredients and classic culinary skills. The Table d’ Hote dinner menu changes daily with dishes paired with wines by the glass and a good wine list beyond. The lounge bar showcases over 70 malt whiskies as well as Scottish artisan gins and beers from Orkney and Skye.

All guest bedrooms have new ensuite facilities and each cosy bedroom can comfortably accommodate two people. Six bedrooms have stunning sea views while four bedrooms overlook the hotel’s charming courtyard garden. All have high quality bed linen, towels and toiletries plus thoughtful extra touches, just the way a Highland hotel ought to be.

Eddrachilles Hotel is ideal for exploring North-West Sutherland. Nearby Handa Island offers excellent seabird watching, or climb the iconic mountains of Assynt and the Far North or simply take a relaxing day on fabulous local beaches such as Sandwood Bay. Complimentary maps, binoculars, filled flasks and snack boxes for those venturing out are available, and there is an interesting collection of books, magazines and board games for those who wish to relax indoors.
Food
For dinner there is a table d’hôte menu which changes each day with sittings typically at 7pm and 8pm. The bar proudly showcases over 70 malt whiskies and many lovely Scottish artisan gins to savour. Breakfast features a cold buffet and a wide range of cooked to order dishes. You will be welcomed with complimentary Tea and coffee, and there are cream scones and cake between 4 and 5 pm for resident guests.
