Highlands and Islands Climate Hub
We help communities take positive climate action. This can include helping with the design and development of project ideas, signposting communities to organisations and agencies that can help to reach climate action goals and support communities to build resilience against the climate emergency.
The Highlands and Islands Climate Hub is one of 24 Hubs which make up a network operating across Scotland.
Established in 2021, the Hub supports community led climate action by amplifying the voices of communities to decision makers and Scottish Government. In addition, we actively support communities via our dedicated team which is made up of skilled community professionals able to offer practical advice to enthusiastic local groups with big ambitions. We can do this via our small grant schemes, specially designed projects and training offerings and by signposting groups and organisations to other agencies and support structures that allow communities to reach their goals and fight the climate emergency.
The overarching aim of the Highlands and Islands Climate Hub is to empower communities in Highland, Orkney and Shetland to take positive climate action at all and any level. We believe the Highlands to be a place of vibrancy and incredible ambition and opportunity.
