Sinclair’s Bay

Sinclair’s Bay is a stunning stretch of sand just north of Wick, framed by dramatic coastal cliffs and overlooked by Castle Sinclair Girnigoe and Old Keiss Castle. Sinclair’s Bay is a wide, white beach, split in half by a stream, with the southern end known locally as Reiss Beach and the northern end as Keiss Beach.

With high cliffs behind and sand dunes, the south side of the beach is sheltered from the wind. Its clean, white sands and gently shelving shoreline make it a peaceful spot for paddling, walking and beachcombing. The bay is popular for horse riding, dog walking and picnics, and photographers love the sunsets and dramatic backdrops.

Parking is available at the northern end of Reiss village, with a short walk through the dunes to reach the beach. There are no toilet facilities directly at the bay, but amenities can be found in nearby Wick, just a short drive away.
